Puzzle 67: Square Cake Problem
We looked at some more examples of special factors today. There was some time left at end of class for students to work on the worksheet from today.
There are some questions on worksheet 21 that can be crossed out. They are # 3, 4, 14, 16, 21, and 22; these are removed because it involved factoring for a not equal 1. For this grade, we focus on factoring with a = 1 for ax^2 + bx + c.
Puzzle 43: Fraction Arrangement
Today we looked at Special Factors. They are Differences of Squares and Perfect Square Trinomials.
An additional worksheet was given out based on what we covered last class.

We looked at the definitions of term, polynomial, coefficient, variables, constant, monomial, binomial, trinomial, degree, leading term, like terms. We also reviewed the distributive property and finding value of a polynomial.
