We went over the worksheets from last class. And then, we looked at adding polynomials.

We also looked at what are zero pairs and how they are modelled using algebra tiles. Announcements: Quiz 3 on Polynomials on Dec 17 Tuesday. We looked at definitions of terminologies today. The definitions include: term, polynomials, coefficient, variables, constant, degree of a term, degree of a polynomial, monomial, binomial, and trinomial. We also looked at modelling with algebra tiles.

Due to immunization clinic today, students were in and out of the room. So, test is moved to Wed Nov 27th. We will have a review class next class on Monday instead.
Announcement: Test 3 on SI Measurements and Similarity moved to Nov 27 Wednesdy No puzzle or numeracy task today. We looked at similar polygons today. We went over the answers for the last worksheet. Afterwards, we went though examples of Similar Triangles questions on the whiteboard.

And then, we started looking at similar triangles. Puzzle was introduced, but no time was given to work on it. Puzzle 100: Suguru
We looked at how scale can be used to enlarge or reduce diagrams. We also looked at how to use proportional reasoning and unit analysis. There is practice time in class. The emphasis is on scale = model/actual or scale = model:actual Class shortened due to Remembrance Day Ceremony. No puzzle or numeracy task today.

We went through the Exponent Laws today as a quick review.
Test next class on Exponent Laws (Chapter 3). Practice: See previous classes Puzzle 74: Intersecting Sets Due to Collaboration Day, we have a shortened class. Students were given a worksheet to complete in class. We will go over the worksheet next class. No puzzle or numeracy task today.
We looked at Order of Operations involving powers today.

We finished looking at Exponent Laws today. The last few we look at are product to a power and quotient to a power.

We looked at how to use exponents to describe numbers today as well as how to evaluate exponents.
