The Tree of Life (Part 1 - Life Map)

We will use Life Map to reflect what happened in the past...

Maps represent Relationships
  • They show the relationship between places and distance. 
  • They show the relationship between location and physical features.
  • They show how people have divided themselves.
  • They show change over time

How are we going to use maps?

We are going to use the same concept to map our lives. The things pinpointed on a map are usually important, or worth note. So in our life maps we will do the same thing!

Some things we could include on our life maps could be:
  • Births/Deaths
  • Weddings/Funerals
  • A large change (like moving)
  • Activities you joined
  • Accomplishments outside of school
  • Academic Accomplishments
  • Big injuries/traumas
  • Significant friendships
  • Struggles you faced
  • Jobs you had (schools you went to)

You are responsible for brainstorming events for your map today.

You must have 5 categories. Don't worry if it is messy! It just has to make sense to you. Here is an example:
